Caravan of Love
When my husband and I started to plan our wedding I promised him to create an artwork that would bring our two cultural backgrounds together. While he built out our Van from a delivery truck to a self-made Camper, insulating the walls and doors with wool and wooden panels, it became clear to me that I wanted to work with the big wooden panels on the back doors. Somehow these doors with the loft bunk bed in the middle reminded me of medieval triptych altars like Hieronymus Bosch's Garden of earthly Delights. I collected stereotypical symbols of Faroese and Bavarian culture to include in the paintings and combined it with a day and night scheme.
